I started out making earrings for myself somewhere around 1983. Ten years later, I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. Since then I have been doing commissioned work and the occasional show, along with increasing amounts graphic design.

With rare exception, all of my jewelry is fabricated directly from various metals, rather than cast. My line of readymade jewelry shows off a variety of glass, crystal, and stone beads. My challenge is to showcase each bead in a unique and intriguing way, to see how much just one or two beads can say. In my custom design work, every project is an adventure in capturing what a client verbalizes and turning it into something tangible.

I have always done some sort of graphic design. I started out with fun and simple logos and flyers long ago, and now create CD art packages, full-color brochures and web pages on a regular basis. I take pride in simply laying out text in a visually pleasing manner. Adding pictures and color is a fun bonus!

Where there is jewelry and text layout, there must also be some logic. I love that both sides of my brain speak easily to each other. Clients have come to me with unusual challenges and I relish the opportunity to solve them in a creative and pleasing manner. I am willing to learn anything! The bottom line is I like to make cool stuff. Even better is making cool stuff that people buy and love.

As well as being a visual artist, I am devoted to music in many forms. I currently sing with The Choral Project, a wonderfully talented and fun group devoted to a better world. Just to round out the picture, I also study Shao-lin Kung Fu.

Many thanks to my parents and friends for rooting for me as an artist (and buying my stuff!)
